Stations of the CrossScriptural › Tenth Station ~ Jesus is Crucified

  Tenth Station

We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you.
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

Scripture Reading

When they brought Jesus to the site of Golgotha (which means “Skull Place”), they tried to give him wine drugged with myrrh,
but he would not take it. Then they crucified him and divided up his garments by rolling dice for them to see what each should
take. It was about nine in the morning when they crucified him. The inscription proclaiming his offense read,
“The King of the Jews.” With him they crucified two insurgents, one at his right and one at his left.
(Mk 15:22-27)

Prayer Response

Merciful and mighty God, it was for our sins that Jesus was nailed to the cross. It was for our sins that Jesus endured the agonies
of his passion that we might be free from the slavery of sin and eternal death. Be with us now. From the depths of our sinfulness
and hatred, rescue us. Forgive us our sins, heal our broken hearts and restore us to new life.
We ask this is the name of Jesus. Amen.

Lord Jesus, crucified and risen,
  have mercy on us.
