Salvator Mundi
Salvator mundi, salva nos, qui per
crucem et resurrectionem tuam liberasti nos. This Latin verse is one
of the Memorial Acclamations said during the Consecration. It
proclaims the central truth of Christianity.
Lord, by your cross and
resurrection you have set us free
You are the Savior of the world.
Catholics believe that salvation is
God's gift to the world. No one can achieve it by his or her
own efforts. However, to be saved we must be willing to accept His gift by
conforming our lives around the will of God. Only then, can we be
assured of eternal salvation.
