In addition to being held in recognition and investiture for the Junior and Senior Girls and Choral Scholars, this year's concert was also a benefit for the Music Ministry program at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Slidell, Louisiana. The parish of Our Lady of Lourdes was hit hard by Hurricane Katrina this past summer.  

A special collection was taken at the concert which was sent to Our Lady of Lourdes to help them rebuild their Music Ministry.
