Members of the Men and Boys Choir, under the direction of Mr. Michael
Bower recently completed their concert tour to Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Several choir families also joined the tour as chaperones or were members
of the Choir fan club.
The
group traveled by bus from St. Agnes Cathedral with their first stop at
St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church in downtown Hartford, Connecticut. St.
Patrick-St. Anthony is the
Oldest Catholic Church in Connecticut. The
choir sung for the 12:05 weekday mass.
The
group next traveled from Hartford to Brookline, Massachusetts for some
relaxation at their hotel.
Saturday
morning provided for some time to take in the sights of Boston. Part
of the group went sightseeing on the famed Boston Duck Tour while others
spent the morning at the Museum of Science. After a quick trip back
to the hotel to change the group was off to Holy Name Parish in West
Roxbury to sing for the 4:00 pm vigil mass. Many parishioners stayed after
mass to listen to the choir sing a short concert. Following mass the choir
and families were invited to a parish July 4th indoor cookout.
On
Sunday morning the choir headed to St. Paul's in Cambridge for their final
performance at the 11:00 am mass. St. Paul's is home to the Boston
Archdiocesan Choir School and the Boston Boy Choir. St. Paul's is
located close to Harvard University and has a ministry serving the needs
of Catholic Students attending Harvard.
From
St. Paul's, the choir headed off to brunch in Boston followed by the bus
trip home to Long Island.
