Msgr. Kelly holds a BA and MA in Education, a MS in Psychology, and a PD in Administration and Counseling.  Prior to coming to St. Agnes in 1997, Msgr. Kelly served as Associate Pastor, St. Pius X, Plainview 1962-68, Associate Pastor, Blessed Sacrament, Valley Stream 1968-70, Chaplain/Counselor/Admin Asst Maria Regina H.S. 1970-74, Principal Holy Family Diocesan H.S. 1974-84, Director of Priests Personnel 1984-90, and Pastor, St. Aidan, Williston Park 1990-97.  

As Rector, Msgr. Kelly is responsible for the spiritual, educational and financial life of the parish, coordinates 14 members of the pastoral staff, is involved with the school and brings sacraments to people.  

Msgr. Kelly enjoys dealing with children and ministering to those who are ill, infirmed and elderly.  In his spare time he enjoys reading and spending quality time with his family and friends.  He is most grateful for the many people who get involved in parish life. 

In 2004, Msgr. Kelly was honored by Pope John Paul II with the title of Protonotary Apostolic.

Msgr. Kelly retired as rector on June 27, 2007 after having served 10 years at the Parish of St. Agnes Cathedral.
