Helen Newman was
raised in Garden City and was graduated from St. Anne's School, Garden
City High School, and St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkhill, New York.
In addition to a B.S. in Elementary Education, Helen has a Masters in
Education from the City College of New York, and a Professional Diploma
in Administration from Manhattan College.
Helen
joined the faculty of St. Agnes Cathedral School in 1980 as a sixth
grade teacher. In September 1981, she was appointed the Assistant
Principal. During her years at St. Agnes, the school
has been recognized as a National School of Excellence by the United
States Department of Education and has been accredited by the Middle
States Association of Colleges and Schools. In September 1999,
Miss Newman was named Co-Principal of St. Agnes Cathedral School.
