Born
and raised in Poland, Fr. Andrzej Zglejszewski (pronounced On–jay
Sklay–shef–ski) attended college seminary in Bialystok and Warsaw,
pursuing his studies in philosophy and theology. Following this calling,
Fr. Andrzej came to the United States in 1987 to complete his studies
for the priesthood at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in
Huntington. He was ordained in 1990 and was assigned to St. Christopher’s
parish in Baldwin. From there, Fr. Andrzej spent eight years at St.
Thomas the Apostle in West Hempstead. In June 2003 he was assigned to
St. Rose of Lima where he served for four years.
Father Andrzej is in
the process of completing his graduate studies in Theology and Religious
Education at Fordham University. He is also an adjunct professor
at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception and serves as a Tribunal
Advocate. The passion of his priestly ministry is Adult Religious
Education and Spiritual Formation. In 2007, Fr. Andrzej was
appointed by Bishop Murphy to serve the diocese as the Director of the
Office of Worship with residence here in St. Agnes Cathedral Parish.
