The St. Agnes
Pre-Cana
program works with those engaged couples who are entering into the Sacrament of
marriage. The program is 6 weeks in
length, with the 1st and 6th sessions centered around Mass
in the Cathedral. The 4 in home
sessions look at Communication, Decision Making, Sexuality, and Spirituality and
are led by married couples from the parish.
During these sessions the “host couples” share their real life
experiences with the engaged to help prepare them for their married life.
Before entering the
program the engaged couples complete the Facilitating Open Couple Communication,
(FOCCUS) inventory. This inventory helps the couples understand their
similarities and differences and begins the discussions that are enhanced and
re-visited during the in-home sessions.
The St. Agnes in home
Pre-Cana program is administered during the winter and fall each year.
Married couples who would like to volunteer to be host couples and FOCCUS
facilitators please contact Pam and Jeff Byrnes at
599-6574
. Engaged couples interested in the
in home Pre-Cana program should contact the rectory for the registration
information.
