The Catholic Ministries Appeal is the annual appeal of the Diocese of Rockville
Centre.
This extraordinary endeavor is designed to support the ministries
and services of our Parish and Diocese.
The funds raised for this most important
appeal will support five main areas:
Parishes:
Every Parish benefits from the appeal
through the sharing formula. We will be able to use our share of the funds
raised for the many ministries in our Parish including Parish Outreach, Faith
Formation, Religious Education and our School to name just a few.
Catholic Charities:
Over 80,000 people were assisted
by a Catholic Charities program last year. Wouldn’t it be great if we
could help more people who are in need this year?
Education:
Catholic schools and religious education
programs teach our children about Christ’s message. Over 170,000 kids
are in Religious Education programs and more than 35,000 are in our Catholic
Schools – they all receive help through this effort.
Formation:
The Seminary also benefits from this area
as it prepares our priests for a life of service to our Parishes and Diocese.
Pastoral Outreach:
Programs such as Respect Life,
the Mission in the Dominican Republic, and Campus Ministry are all able to
function from this important ministry.
Please remember
that these funds help our Church fulfill its mission of helping our brothers and
sisters in need here on Long Island through the many charitable programs at the
Parish and Diocesan levels. Whether it’s through the works of Catholic
Charities or the religious education programs, our Catholic identity is rooted
in history of helping people.
