Advent Lessons and Carols in the
Cathedral

Please
come to St. Agnes Cathedral on Sunday, December 9, at 3:00pm and
celebrate the Advent Season with a special service of scripture
readings, choral anthems, and hymns.
The Diocesan Choir, under the direction of Michael Wustrow, will
provide the music for this event.
Over 125 singers from parishes throughout the Diocese of
Rockville Centre come together to form the choir, which sings for all
the principle Diocesan liturgies and special events.
One
of the highlights of the service will be a dramatic reading of the
Annunciation story, when Mary was visited by the Angel Gabriel,
revealing that she was to be the mother of Jesus.
The lector who reads the story is accompanied by the organ,
trumpet, and choir.
New to this year’s service will be a lush setting of “Lo, How
A Rose E’er Blooming” by Michael Wustrow’s classmate at Yale,
Music Director Dale Adelmann from All Saints Parish,
Beverly Hills
.
Lessons
and Carols is modeled after a service at
